13th Congress of Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy

In October, the Digital Dentistry Laboratory team attended the 13th edition of the Congress of Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, a prestigious event bringing together academic staff, researchers and students committed to excellence in medicine and dentistry.

During the event, our student Alexia Cârstea, together with the LTDS team, was awarded First Prize in the competition entitled Young Investigator, presenting research on ‘‘Multidisciplinary Development of an Intelligent Dental Education Simulator Using Embedded Microsensors”.

This award recognises the quality of the research undertaken and our students’ commitment to scientific advancement in dentistry. 🏆

On the same occasion, we had the pleasure of welcoming distinguished international guests to the LTDS premises:

• Prof. Stefan Ruhl, University at Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine, Department of Oral Biology

• Prof. Nardy Casap-Caspi, Hebrew University–Hadassah Faculty of Dental Medicine, Jerusalem, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

• Prof. Henk Brand, Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA), Department of Oral Biochemistry

• Assist. Prof. Zeinab Assy, Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA), Department of Oral Biochemistry.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity for academic dialogue and the exchange of experience on innovations in dental education and research, strengthening the international collaborations of LTDS and the Faculty of Dentistry.
